👋 Introduction

Welcome to Tidy, developed by Shan's Studio. We built Tidy with one core belief: your private messages should stay private — on your device, under your control, always.

This Privacy Policy explains what information Tidy accesses, how it is used, and why. By using Tidy, you agree to this policy.

📱 What Tidy Accesses

To function as an SMS replacement app, Tidy requests the following permissions from Android:

• READ_SMS — to display your messages in the app
• RECEIVE_SMS — to intercept incoming messages for spam filtering
• SEND_SMS — to allow you to reply to messages
• READ_CONTACTS — to identify messages from people you know
• RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — to restore background functionality after a device restart

🔒 How Your Data is Used

All processing — including spam detection, message categorization, and contact matching — happens entirely on your device, in real time, with no network calls whatsoever.

• Your SMS messages are never uploaded, synced, or shared with any server
• Your contacts are read only in memory to classify messages — never stored separately
• Spam filtering runs via a local, on-device engine with no cloud dependency
• No analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising SDKs are included

💾 Local Storage

Tidy uses a local on-device database (Room/SQLite) to cache message metadata for faster loading. This data:

• Exists only on your device's internal storage
• Is automatically deleted when you uninstall the app
• Is never backed up to any external server

👶 Children's Privacy

Tidy is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Since no data is collected at all, there is no risk of children's data being misused through our app.

🔄 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
